As I was meditating this morning the Lord brought this scripture to my attention.

John 10:17-18 NKJV

17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

Sometimes we get to a place where we are tired of giving constantly of ourselves to others and also in the ministry and even towards loved ones that do not return the favour…. Sometimes we come to a place where just for once in a while we want to be on the receiving end of those whom you serve and love unconditionally.

I came to realise that when we start to think in this way it is the flesh that wants and desire its own gratification and recognition.  This is where the Me, Myself and I starts to manifest.

The problem when we allow this to fester in our hearts, it brings about feelings of resentment and anger towards those that you are serving in this manner.

Jesus clearly instructs us to take up our cross daily if we want to be followers of Him.

This unselfish and sacrificial life is a choice.  Each and every one of us as believers needs to make this constant choice to lay down our lives in the same manner as what Jesus did.

I can be honest in telling you that it is not so easy and it does not come naturally to us as human beings as our default setting calls for the satisfaction of the My, Myself and I.

Jesus also said that as the Father has sent Him, He is sending us.  If you truly desire to be an accurate representation of Christ in the earth we have to have the ability to lay down our lives as Jesus did.

May the Lord grant us the grace to live our lives daily in this manner and in all circumstances be accurate representative no matter what the cost might be to our flesh.

Great grace to you all.
