GOD’S CHALLENGE TO THE BODY OF CHRIST TODAY – TAKE MY WORD SERIOUSLY!

For some time now I have been involved in engaging other believers around the current move of God in the Body of Christ. I have seen the manifestation of a lack of commitment to truly make the Word of God our priority. We daily see and read of spiritual leaders that fornicate, swindle and commit fraud. The church today is a broken and hurting body. A body that has been raped and defiled by many who calls themselves men and women of God but whose lifestyle do not reflect the message that they preach. When you speak to unbelievers they are not interested to become Christians… WHY? They do not see the manner of life!

THERE IS A DEMAND FOR FOCUS

It was in this time that God spoke to me with regards to the way that we as the church engage the Word in our walk with God. He asked me, Herman, are you really serious about My Word? Of course I responded YES LORD.

The Lord then started to share the following with me:

1 Pet 1:25 states that; “…the word of the LORD endures forever.”[NKJV] The word being used for endure is the word G3306 – menō – according to the Complete Wordstudy Dictionary carries the meaning “to stay in force.”

Many believers today read the Bible, talk about the Bible and even teach from the Bible. Very few believers truly have come to the place where the Word of God is placed in a position of supremacy over and above our comfort zones and our fear that the Word will offend people.

The challenge being placed before us TODAY, is to make the Word of God in your life supreme.

CALL TO ACTION

When we say that we believe in the Bible we must do two things:

first acknowledge that it is God’s supreme and divine Word, and that it’s statutes endures forever and are unchangeable;
and secondly, that we can and will only allow our lives to be influenced BY THE WORD.

Today I believe that God is telling us that playtime is over. You can no longer be allowed to sit under this Word and not come to a place where you embrace His Word and change and adapt you life accordingly.

Deu 30:11,14, & 19 AMP

(11) For this commandment which I command you this day is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off.

(14) But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your mind and in your heart, so that you can do it.

(19) I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live

THE DEMAND

Today God is placing a demand upon each one of us to respond to His WORD. You have to make a decision today.

Do you choose and confess today from this moment forth that the Word of God is the highest authority in your life. That this Word is SUPREME, DIVINE and cannot CHANGE?

If you respond to this and say YES …..

There is a second part to this demand:

Do you choose today to make the Word of God your only reality?

Before you respond quickly and tell me YES let me first explain.

This is the place where you come to a place where you choose to make the Word of God your reality. This would then imply that you choose to only respond to life from the Word.

You would thus only align you life and conduct according to the WORD.

What you think
What you feel
What you do
What the community expect of you
What the family or tradition expect of you
Your knowledge or experiences of the past

This places a serious challenge before each one of us to live our lives according to the Word of God and the Word of God only. It places a demand to us that the words of I think or I feel no longer carries any relevance to what we say think or do. We test each and everything against the WORD of God.

It is a demand that is being placed by the Spirit of God and to which we need to respond. If we respond and say yes Lord we choose life. If we refuse we choose death.

CHOOSE LIFE!
