Meditations from the Well
Drawing deeply from the Word. Reflecting quietly in His presence. Carrying living water into everyday life.
Welcome to Meditations from the Well, a dedicated part of The 777th Precinct Wellside Dialogue.
Throughout Scripture, the well was more than a place where people came to draw water. It was a place of meeting, conversation, covenant, encounter and revelation. People gathered at wells, relationships were formed there, journeys were redirected there, and ordinary moments became places of divine encounter.
In the same spirit, this page has been created as a place where we can regularly draw from the inexhaustible well of God’s Word.
The blogs published here will take the form of meditations—shorter, reflective teachings intended not merely to give information, but to create space for us to stop, listen, consider and respond to what the Spirit of God may be saying.
These meditations will draw from Scripture and from the realities we encounter in our homes, relationships, churches, ministries, workplaces, communities and nations. At times they may encourage. At other times they may challenge, correct, strengthen or call us back to something we have forgotten. But the purpose remains the same: to draw living truth from the well and allow it to become life within us.
A Place to Reflect, Not Simply to Read
The intention of these meditations is not that we hurry through another article.
It is an invitation to linger at the well.
Read slowly.
Consider the Scriptures.
Search your own heart.
Listen for the voice of the Lord.
Allow the Holy Spirit to highlight what is relevant to your present season.
Sometimes one sentence from God is more valuable than pages of information.
Connected to the Wellside Dialogue
Meditations from the Well forms part of The 777th Precinct Wellside Dialogue — A Roundtable of Covenant Relationships.
The Wellside Dialogue represents a place where people can gather around the well without competition, position or religious performance. We come recognising that no individual carries all that God is saying. Each person may bring something to the well, and each of us must remain willing to draw from what God has deposited in others.
These meditations therefore become another expression of that conversation—a way of placing thoughts, Scriptures, experiences and spiritual observations beside the well for others to prayerfully consider.
Come and Draw
Jesus said:
John 7:37–38 BSB
(37) On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
(38) Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”
There is always more water in the well.
There is always more of God to discover.
There is always another truth to embrace, another perspective to consider, another area of our lives to surrender, and another measure of Christ waiting to be formed within us.
So you are invited to return to this page regularly.
Come to the well.
Draw deeply.
Meditate carefully.
Listen prayerfully.
And carry the water with you.
Welcome to Meditations from the Well.
A place where Scripture becomes meditation, meditation becomes revelation, and revelation becomes life.
