The Power of Covenant

The power of Covenant is an exegesis on the Book of Ruth. The Power of Covenant is A line upon line exegesis on the Book of Ruth.

But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you;

For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people,

And your God, my God.

Initiation of Covenant

Naomi does not place Ruth and Orpah under any obligation. But Ruth initiated a covenant with her. Naomi did not force the covenant upon her. I believe that Ruth already made this commitment in her heart. Orpah did not see the value of such a
covenant. When men and women of God shift into accurate positions, it will activate those who are in covenant. Those who are not in covenant will walk away.
Institutions will force you to sign contracts or membership forms. But true fathers do not force anyone to follow them. Connecting yourself to a spiritual father is a covenant relationship. It is not something to take lightly. True sons will initiate the covenant. Ruth was pursuing Naomi. In fact, Naomi tried to prevent the connection in the natural. She no longer wanted them to follow her based on their physical needs, so she gave Ruth and Orpah all the reasons in the natural not to follow her. Ruth made an informed decision. She knew that this covenant was not for physical benefit, but it was for spiritual benefit.
A spiritual covenant is a pursuing relationship. Ruth pledges to follow Naomi.: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go… The spiritual son pursues the grace in a spiritual father. He does not demand the father to run after him. He does not follow the father based on physical needs.
