INTRODUCTION
As believers in Christ, we are not merely saved from sin—we are brought into a rich inheritance filled with spiritual blessings, divine companionship, and eternal promises. The Word of God calls us to remember and live in the fullness of these benefits. Too often, believers live beneath their privileges because they forget what has already been given to them in Christ.
This study unveils the powerful realities of our identity and inheritance in Him. It is a call to awaken, to embrace, and to walk daily in the fullness of what God has provided through Jesus Christ.
Psalms 103:2 NKJV
(2) Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:
This psalm, expresses, as none other, the soul of the universal Church and of the individual Christian. God’s tender dealings run parallel with our lives. He is never weary nor exhausted. When once He begins, He keeps on. Let us enumerate the blessings that He gives in such unbroken abundance, let us praise Him for His forgiveness; healing, and redemption from perils and accidents, whether seen and unseen.
Exodus 15:26 NKJV
(26) and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”
God promised that if the people obeyed him, they would not suffer from the diseases that plagued the Egyptians. Little did they know that many of the moral laws he later gave them were designed to keep them free from sickness. For example, following God’s law against prostitution would keep them free of venereal disease. God’s laws for us are often designed to keep us from harm. Men and women are complex beings. Our physical, emotional, and spiritual lives are intertwined. Modern medicine is now acknowledging what these laws assumed. If we want God to care for us, we need to submit to his directions for living.
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH COMPANIONSHIP
One of the greatest benefits of being in Christ is divine companionship. We are never alone.

Matthew 18:20 NKJV
(20) “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Jesus looked ahead to a new day when he would be present with his followers not in body, but through his Holy Spirit. In the body of believers (the church), the sincere agreement of two people in prayer is more powerful than the superficial agreement of thousands, because Christ’s Holy Spirit is with them. Two or more believers, filled with the Holy Spirit, will pray according to God’s will, not their own; thus, their requests will be granted.
Hebrews 13:5 NKJV
(5) Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
How can we learn to be satisfied with what we have? Strive to live with less rather than desiring more; give away out of your abundance rather than accumulating more; relish what you have rather than resent what you’re missing. We become satisfied when we realize God’s sufficiency for our needs. Christians who become materialistic are saying by their actions that God can’t take care of them—or at least that he won’t take care of them the way they want. Insecurity can lead to the love of money, whether we are rich or poor. The only antidote is to trust God to meet all our needs. See God’s love expressed in what he has provided, and remember that money and possessions will all pass away.
Matthew 28:20 NKJV
(20) “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
We must make Jesus King of our life and worship him as our Savior, King, and Lord.

Proverbs 18:24 NKJV
(24) A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Loneliness is everywhere—many people feel cut off and alienated from others. Being in a crowd just makes people more aware of their isolation. We all need friends who will stick close, listen, care, and offer help when it is needed—in good times and bad. It is better to have one such friend than dozens of superficial acquaintances. Instead of wishing you could find a true friend, seek to become one. If you look around, you’ll find people who need your friendship. Ask God to reveal them to you, and then take on the challenge of being a true friend.
Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
(38) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
(39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Proverbs 18:24 NKJV
(24) A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Dwelling in the Presence of God is a profound invitation into a life of deep intimacy with God—one that moves beyond religious activity into authentic, daily communion with Him.
God does not only dwell with us—He invites us into deep fellowship.
1 Samuel 20:41 NKJV
(41) And as soon as the lad had gone, David arose from a place toward the south, fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down three times. And they kissed one another, and they wept together, but David more so.
John 15:15 NKJV
(15) “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
Because Jesus Christ is Lord and Master, he should call us servants; instead, he calls us friends. How comforting and reassuring to be chosen as Christ’s friends! Because he is Lord and Master, we owe him our unqualified obedience, but most of all, Jesus asks us to obey him because we love him.
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH GOD’S RELIABILITY

God is completely dependable. Every promise He has made is certain.
2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV
(20) For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
Instead of defending himself, Paul reminded the Corinthians of God’s faithfulness. There was no duplicity in God. His promises would be fulfilled. There would be no wavering between “yes” and “no.” Jesus Christ was the premier example of this. “All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘yes!'” Jesus is the embodiment of God’s faithfulness. Because Jesus Christ is faithful, Paul (a messenger appointed by Jesus) would also be faithful in his ministry.
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH GOD’S IMMUTABLE LOVE
The love of Christ is constant and unchanging.

Proverbs 17:17 NKJV
(17) A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
What kind of friend are you? There is a vast difference between knowing someone well and being a true friend. The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is loyalty and being available to help in times of distress or personal struggle.
1 Corinthians 13:7 NKJV
(7) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Too many people are fair-weather friends. They stick around when the friendship helps them and leave when they’re not getting anything out of the relationship. Think of your friends and assess your loyalty to them. Be the kind of true friend the Bible encourages.
Romans 8:35-39 NKJV
(35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
(36) As it is written: “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG; WE ARE ACCOUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE SLAUGHTER.”
(37) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
(38) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
(39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
These verses contain one of the most comforting promises in all Scripture. Believers have always had to face hardships in many forms: persecution, illness, imprisonment, and even death. These sometimes cause them to fear that they have been abandoned by Christ. But Paul exclaims that it is impossible to be separated from Christ. His death for us is proof of his unconquerable love. Nothing can separate us from Christ’s presence. God tells us how great his love is so that we will feel totally secure in him. If we believe these overwhelming assurances, we will not be afraid.
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH GOD’S ENCOURAGEMENT
God strengthens and uplifts His people continually.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV
(9) Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.
(10) For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.
Cooperating with others has advantages. Life is designed for companionship, not isolation, for intimacy, not loneliness. Some people prefer isolation, thinking they cannot trust anyone. We are not here on earth to serve ourselves, however, but to serve God and others. Don’t isolate yourself and try to go it alone. Seek companions; be a team member.
The Talmud states “A man without companions is like the left hand without the right.”
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH SONSHIP
John 1:12 NKJV

(12) But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God. Through faith in Christ, this new birth changes us from the inside out—rearranging our attitudes, desires, and motives. Being born makes you physically alive and places you in your parents’ family.
Being born of God makes you spiritually alive and puts you in God’s family.
Have you asked Christ to make you a new person? This fresh start in life is available to all who believe in Christ.
Romans 8:14-15 NKJV
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
(15) For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Paul uses adoption to illustrate the believer’s new relationship with God. In Roman culture, the adopted person lost all rights in his old family and gained all the rights of a legitimate child in his new family. He became a full heir to his new father’s estate. Likewise, when a person becomes a Christian, he or she gains all the privileges and responsibilities of a child in God’s family. One of these outstanding privileges is being led by the Spirit.
We may not always feel as though we belong to God, but the Holy Spirit is our witness. His inward presence reminds us of who we are and encourages us with God’s love.
We are no longer like “fearful slaves”; instead, we are the Master’s children. What a privilege! Because we are God’s children, we share in great treasures as co-heirs. God has already given us his best gifts: his Son, his Holy Spirit, forgiveness, and eternal life; and he encourages us to ask him for whatever we need.

Galatians 4:6-7 NKJV
(6) And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
(7) Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Under Roman law, an adopted child was guaranteed all legal rights to his father’s property, even if he was formerly a slave. He was not a second-class son; he was equal to all other sons, biological or adopted, in his father’s family. As adopted children of God, we share with Jesus all rights to God’s resources. As God’s heirs, we can claim what he has provided for us—our full identity as his children
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH TRUTH
John 14:6 NKJV
(6) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus says he is the only way to God the Father. Some people may argue that this way is too narrow. In reality, it is wide enough for the whole world, if the world chooses to accept it. Instead of worrying about how limited it sounds to have only one way, we should be saying, “Thank you, God, for providing a sure way to get to you!”
As the way, Jesus is our path to the Father. As the truth, he is the reality of all God’s promises. As the life, he joins his divine life to ours, both now and eternally. Jesus is, in truth, the only living way to the Father.
John 8:32 NKJV
(32) And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Jesus himself is the truth that sets us free.
John 8:36 NKJV
(36) Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Jesus is the source of truth, the perfect standard of what is right. He frees us from continued slavery to sin, from self-deception, and from deception by Satan. He shows us clearly the way to eternal life with God. Thus, Jesus does not give us freedom to do what we want, but freedom to follow God. As we seek to serve God, Jesus’ perfect truth frees us to be all that God meant us to be.
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH ABUNDANCE OF LIFE
John 10:10 NKJV
(10) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
In contrast to the thief who takes life, Jesus gives life. The life he gives right now is abundantly rich and full. It is eternal, yet it begins immediately. Life in Christ is lived on a higher plane because of his overflowing forgiveness, love, and guidance. Have you taken Christ’s offer of life?
Philippians 4:19 NKJV
(19) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
We can trust that God will always meet our needs. Whatever we need on earth he will always supply, even if it is the courage to face death as Paul did. Whatever we need in heaven he will supply. We must remember, however, the difference between our wants and our needs. Most people want to feel good and avoid discomfort or pain. We may not get all that we want. By trusting in Christ, our attitudes and appetites can change from wanting everything to accepting his provision and power to live for him.
BENEFITS OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST THROUGH RECEIVING THE NEW NATURE
2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
(17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Christians are brand-new people on the inside. The Holy Spirit gives them new life, and they are not the same anymore. We are not reformed, rehabilitated, or re-educated—we are re-created (new creations), living in vital union with Christ.
Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV
(6) As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
(7) rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Receiving Christ as Lord of your life is the beginning of life with Christ. But you must continue to follow his leadership by being rooted, built up, and strengthened in the faith. Christ wants to guide you and help you with your daily problems.
You can live for Christ by:
(1) committing your life and submitting your will to him
(2) seeking to learn from him, his life, and his teachings and
(3) recognizing the Holy Spirit’s power in you.
At conversion we do not merely turn over a new leaf; we begin a new life under a new Master.
While this newness is true individually, Paul is saying much more. Not only are believers changed from within, but a whole new order of creative energy began with Christ. There is a new covenant, a new perspective, a new body, a new church. All of creation is being renewed. So take notice. This is not a superficial change that will be quickly superseded by another novelty. This is an entirely new order of all creation under Christ’s authority. It requires a new way of looking at all people and all of creation. Does your life reflect this new perspective?
