YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT – YOU HAVE BEEN MANDATED

SENDING TO YOUR ASSIGNMENT: THE CALL / THE COMMISSION / THE HARVEST AWAITS

Every believer in Christ has been entrusted with a Kingdom Assignment—a divine mandate to represent God’s authority, advance His Kingdom, and establish His will on the earth. This assignment is not reserved for a select few, but is the calling of every disciple who has been redeemed and commissioned by Jesus Christ. A Kingdom Assignment carries both responsibility and privilege: responsibility to accurately reflect the nature, voice, and power of Christ, and privilege to participate in the harvest that is already ripe. As the Lord sends labourers into His harvest, each believer must respond with readiness, obedience, and faith, declaring, “Here I am, Lord, send me.” Walking in your Kingdom Assignment means living intentionally, moving under divine direction, and manifesting the reality of Heaven in every sphere of influence.

Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV
(19) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
(20) teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

The final instructions provided by Jesus to his disciples are regarded as significant. He affirmed their position under his authority, directed them to guide others into discipleship, and instructed them to baptize and teach these new followers to adhere to Christ’s teachings. Furthermore, he assured them of his continued presence. While earlier missions focused exclusively on the Jewish population this directive expanded their responsibilities globally.

Matthew 10:5-6 NKJV

(5)  These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.

(6)  But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

As a believer, you have received the mandate to be that change agent.
CALLED TO BE A CHANGE AGENT

According to Christian doctrine, Jesus is considered Lord of the earth and his sacrifice is believed to encompass individuals from all nations.

We are called to make disciples everywhere, as a command for all who follow Jesus. Everyone can contribute to fulfilling the great commission using their unique gifts, knowing Jesus is always with us.

Baptism connects believers to Christ, marking a death to sin and new life. It symbolizes commitment to Christ, living according to God’s will, and joining God’s covenant community.

Every believer carries a divine mandate to be sent, to represent Christ, and to advance the Kingdom of God.

YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT DEMANDS THAT YOU PRAY UNTO THE LORD TO SEND LABOURERS INTO THE HARVEST

Luke 10:2 NKJV
(2) Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Isaiah 6:8 NKJV
(8) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

Christian service has no unemployment. God has work enough for everyone. Jesus encouraged the disciples not just to do the work but also to pray for workers. Part of every missionary’s responsibility is to pray for new workers and to help newcomers learn the ropes. Whatever your role in God’s work, pray today for more helpers. Some people, as soon as they understand the gospel, want to go to convert people immediately. Jesus gave a different approach: begin by mobilizing people to pray. And before praying for unsaved people, pray that other concerned disciples will join you in reaching out to them.

YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT DEMANDS THAT YOU REPRESENT GRACE ACCURATELY

POSSESSING YOUR LAND
POSSESSING YOUR LAND

Luke 10:1 NKJV
(1) After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.

Jesus selected 72 followers to prepare towns for his visit. These disciples were not distinguished by education or status, but by being empowered with Jesus’ authority and a vision to reach everyone. While it’s vital to commit our talents to God’s Kingdom, having both divine power and clear purpose is essential.

John 13:20 NKJV
(20) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

We need to understand that if we reject the sent one that God has sent to us we are not rejecting the person but Christ himself.  What a sobering thought.

YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT DEMANDS THAT YOU OVERCOME FEAR

Luke 10:3 NKJV
(3) Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

Jesus said he was sending his disciples out “as lambs among wolves.” They would have to be careful because they would surely meet with opposition. We, too, are sent into the world like lambs among wolves. Be alert, and remember to face your enemies, not with aggression but with love and gentleness. A dangerous mission requires sincere commitment.

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
(7) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Jesus warned his disciples that they would face opposition, being sent out “as lambs among wolves.” Similarly, we must remain alert and respond to challenges with love and gentleness, not aggression, showing true commitment

1 John 4:18 NKJV
(18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.

If we ever are afraid of the future, eternity, or God’s judgment, we can remind ourselves of God’s love. We know that he loves us perfectly.

Romans 8:38-39 NKJV

(38)  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

(39)  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We can resolve our fears first by focusing on his immeasurable love for us, and then by allowing him to love others through us. His love will quiet your fears and give you confidence.

YOU NEED TO ABSOLUTELY TRUST IN HIS PROVISION FOR YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT TO BE FULFILLED

DOMINION IN YOUR GIVING
DOMINION IN YOUR GIVING

Luke 10:4,7 NKJV
(4) Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.
(7) And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages.

Jesus’ direction to stay in one house avoided certain problems. Shifting from house to house could offend the families who first took them in. Some families might begin to compete for the disciples’ presence, and some might think they weren’t good enough to hear their message. If the disciples appeared not to appreciate the hospitality offered them, the town might not accept Jesus when he followed them there. In addition, by staying in one place, the disciples would not have to worry continually about getting good accommodations. They could settle down and focus on their appointed task.

Jesus told his disciples to accept hospitality graciously because their work entitled them to it. Ministers of the Good News deserve to be supported, and our responsibility is to make sure they have what they need.

Matthew 6:33 NKJV
(33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

To “seek the Kingdom of God above all else” means to put God first in your life, to fill your thoughts with his desires, to take his character for your pattern, and to serve and obey him in everything. What is really important to you? People, objects, goals, and other desires all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly become most important to you if you don’t actively choose to give God first place in every area of your life.

Philippians 4:19 NKJV
(19) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We can trust that God will always meet our needs. Whatever we need on earth he will always supply, even if it is the courage to face death as Paul did. Whatever we need in heaven he will supply. We must remember, however, the difference between our wants and our needs. Most people want to feel good and avoid discomfort or pain. We may not get all that we want. By trusting in Christ, our attitudes and appetites can change from wanting everything to accepting his provision and power to live for him.

YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT DEMANDS THAT YOU OFFER THE GOSPEL OF PEACE TO ALL

Luke 10:5,9 NKJV

The Gospel of the Kingdom
Gospel Of Fear and Condemnation vs. The Gospel of the Kingdom

(5) But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’
(9) And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

Jesus gave two rules for the disciples to follow as they traveled. They were to eat what was set before them—that is, they were to accept hospitality without being picky—and they were to heal the sick. Because of the healings, people would be willing to listen to the Good News.

Romans 14:17 NKJV
(17) for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

For the kingdom of God – That is, true religion, does not consist in external observances. But in righteousness – The image of God stamped on the heart; the love of God and man, accompanied with the peace that passeth all understanding, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

TO BE EFFECTIVE IN YOUR KINGDOM ASSIGNMENT YOU MUST CONNECT WITH A SON OF PEACE

Covenant in Discipleship
Covenant in Discipleship

Luke 10:6 NKJV
(6) And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.

Matthew 5:9 NKJV
(9) Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.

Son of peace in the text not only means a peaceable, quiet man, but one also of good report for his uprightness and benevolence. It would have been a dishonor to this mission, had the missionaries taken up their lodgings with those who had not a good report among them who were without.

YOU HAVE TO REMAIN FAITHFUL IN THE HOUSE

UNDERSTANDING FAITHFULLNESS
UNDERSTANDING FAITHFULLNESS IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Luke 10:7 NKJV
(7) Do not go from house to house.

John 8:35 NKJV
(35) And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

Sin has a way of enslaving us, controlling us, dominating us, and dictating our actions. Jesus can free you from this slavery that keeps you from becoming the person God created you to be. If sin is restraining, mastering, or enslaving you, Jesus can break its power over your life.

DO NOT WASTE TIME SO LEAVE UNFRUITFUL PLACES

Luke 10:10-12 NKJV
(10) But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,
(11) The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you.
(12) But I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.

Sodom was an evil city that God had destroyed because of its great sinfulness (Genesis 19). The city’s name is often used to symbolize wickedness and immorality. Sodom will suffer on judgment day, but cities who saw the Messiah and rejected him will suffer even more.

We must have the discipline and understanding to leave the places where you are not received as a sent one by God.  Do not waste your time or resources at such a place or person.

However remember at all times to be led by the Spirit of God.

Grace and peace to you as you embrace and fulfil your Kingdom mandate and assignment.
